Jagdish Tytler's Involments in “November 1984 Sikh Genocide”

Jagdish Tytler - former Union Minister and senior member of Indian National Congress party.
Currently: Member Parliament (Lok Sabha) from ‘Delhi Sadar’ constituency.

  • In 1984, Jagdish Tytler was Member Parliament from Lok Sabha Constitutency, Sadar, North Delhi.
  • During the “November 1984 Sikh Genocide”, Jagdish Tytler led murderous mob killing and looting Sikhs in Delhi.
  • In August 1993, Jain Aggarwal Committee first recommended registering the case against Jagdish Tytler for his involvement in leading mob that killed Sikhs during “November 1984 Sikh Genocide”
  • In January 1994, Narula Committee recommended registering the case against Jagdish Tytler for his involvement in leading mob that killed Sikhs during “November 1984 Sikh Genocide”
  • In 2005, the official report of the Justice Nanavati Commission , found some ‘credible evidence’ against Jagdish Tytler, saying that he ‘very probably’ had a hand in organizing the “November 1984 Sikh Genocide” and recommended a fresh probe in the cases.
  • In 2009, Jagdish Tytler was forced to withdraw from 2009 Lok Sabha polls, despite of getting Congress election ticket earlier.
