WITNESS 1984

  • Witness against former chairman of Delhi Rural Development Board and senior member of Indian National Congress party – Sajjan Kumar, who led mob that killed Sikhs during “84' Sikh Genocide"
  • Gurcharan Singh Rishi is bedridden for the last twenty four years. He was thrown into a burning truck by the crowd during the “84' Sikh Genocide".
  • He saw Sajjan Kumar leading a 1,500 strong crowd to “kill" Sikhs in the national capital’s Newada locality on November 1, 1984.
  • He heard Sajjan Kumar telling the miscreants that “Is mohalle ka ek bhi sardar zinda nahin bachna chahiye. In kutton ko saza deni hai (Not even a single Sikh here must escape alive. These dogs must be punished)".
  • In response to the appeal and assurance from Akal Takht Jathedar Gyani Joginder Singh Vedanti, he is ready to testify against Sajjan Kumar for his involvement in “84' Sikh Genocide".
  • On March 12, 2008, Gurcharan Singh Rishi gave his statement to the CBI official Jatinder Prasad.
  • On February 17, 2009, Gurcharan Singh Rishi breathed his last, two days before he was to appear before the Delhi High Court for his statement against Congress MP Sajjan Kumar.
